Adelaide and the Night Train

406_adelaideWhen I was a chlld, my family lived near train tracks.  My favorite childhood dream was about a train.  To this day, I find great solace in the sounds of the railroad.

Pearl and I are both enjoying the picture book Adelaide and the Night Train by Liz Rosenberg.

I, too, grew up listening to the train in the middle of the night, moved away for many years, and now live on the opposite side of those same tracks. I used to imagine myself the conductor.

We got this book from the library last week and we loved it so much I just ordered it used.

By the way, if you Google the title, your blog comes up as the number one result. Thanks for the book idea. Mel and Milo.

It's a Shaw brand rug. I got it on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/SHAW-RUGS-MARY-KATE-ASHLEY-ORBITAL-WATERMELON_W0QQitemZ4454696291QQcategoryZ20572QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I live near the tracks and love hearing and, in winter when the leaves are off the trees, seeing the train go by.

On another note, is that a rug you two are lying on? It's great! Can I ask where you found it?
