Excuses
Sorry I haven't been posting as much as usual. I've been a little down this week, probably because of a looming birthday. It's hard to break these habits of feeling. Feelings turn out to be a lot stronger than anyone thought. It's like the scientific study that discovered that the material in a spider web is tougher than steal. Who could have guessed that? I have been posting at Big Window, if you'd like to check out my Other blog. And I'm sure to bounce back soon. Back-to-school is a demanding time of the year, isn't it?

Hey, Rob. This post brought me right in and connected me to you in some way. I am taking a class in ecopsychology right now--mind blowing stuff. This discipline expands the context within which we examine our psychological health/pathology to include the global context (ecological and psychosocial). For example, you might be feeling down because you sense what's really going on in the world. From this perspective, your negative feelings might be an expression of profound sanity. And/or a call to action. If you're interested, I recommend Joanna Macy's book _Coming Back to Life_. I am in a painful period of recognition right now myself.
Sending love to you and the family,

Sorry to hear you're down. Feelings are strong aren't they? And their associated links. Which can be great, or can be a pain in the neck. (I didn't know that about spider webs though.)

Then I feel especially grateful you took time out of your busy day to speak with me today! What a whirlwind of networking ensued. And Terris is fabulous--every bit as interesting as her books!
