Re: the shade of blue, Pearl did choose her own clothes on both of those occasions. The shirt in her school picture is one she selected herself from the store. Actually that was the first time she'd ever chosen an article of clothing. So it seems like you are probably right! Thanks for the observation.

Neat! Does Pearl especially like that light color of blue? Right now the photo at the top right of the site is of her in that color too. I love Carrie' big collar.
