Here's a question that has nothing to do with the kids, but what the hell, yes? What's your favorite lesbian novel? I have fond memories of The Sea of Light by Jenifer Levin and Written on the Body by Jeanette Winterson. If you have more than one to recommend, feel free to submit a list. You need not be gay to play!
It's a draw between Pages For You by Sylvia Brownrigg, and Dare Truth or Promise, which is a young adult novel by Paula Boock (a New Zealand writer who is also a lesbian mum, or about to be one, or something). Also love Trumpet by Jackie Kay. Can't wait for everyone else to vote, I could do with a good lesbian novel around about now!

i am in the middle of "hood" by emma donoghue and i'm really loving it. it's very sad, but well written (which sometimes in the lesbian novel world is rare).

This is my very favorite question in the world; I liked it so much that I wrote a whole post in reply:

Enjoy ;-)

I liked "Other Women" by Lisa Alther (which I've read about a million times...), and I enjoyed "Out of Time" by Paula Martinac quite a lot.
Mostly, though, I find myself terribly underwhelmed by "lesbian novels." This disappoints me greatly.

My favorite Winterson is "Powerbook."
I also like Ali Smith.

I have never seen a lesbian movie...sorry that I can't help you with that one, but I was looking for a place to comment about Heather Has Two Mommies that you recommended. Lillianna and I borrowed it from the library a few weeks ago and we loved it!! What a great book about families. Thanks for suggesting it.

Hello ladies...I have a new lesbian novel out titled THE BUCKSKIN SKIRT OAR TRAVELER. I am reviving lesbian pulp fiction adjusted to modern day. I am signed by a literary agent in Hollywood who is representing my novels in Hollywood for screen adaptation. Stop by my site sometime when you have spare and read some of my novel excerpts. Oh...you may purchase my novel at www.authorhouse.com or the purchase links on my website. Thanks!
