Thanks, Mieke, for sending this news story for the lesbian mom watch.
In San Francisco Superior Court Judge Richard Kramer ruled that California's ban on same-sex marriage, as well as its five-year-old Defense of Marriage Act, are unconstitutional. [Story, continued.]
*jumps up and down happy because I have no other words for how wonderful this is*

still waiting for the difinative argument against same sex marraige - the reichwingers can't move beyond, "it's wrong and the bible says so."
Also, I can't see how someone else getting married has any affect on another person's marraige. So that hetero marriage needs protecting is crap as well.
If it really is about protecting children, perhaps we ought ban marriage of a different sort: that is, marriage between smokers or obese individuals. At least those have been emperically proven to cause the same in children.

Did you know if gay/lesbians are allowed to marry that hetro couples will stop having children?
Did you also know that gay/lesbian marriage is a homeland security issue and that the director of Homeland Security should investigate?
These two pearls of wisdom are brought to you by U.S Senator Rick Santorum R-Penn.
You just can't have conversations about this issue with retards like that. How did he ever get elected? We must work towards his defeat.

hmmm...Mieke...so, IF gays/lesbians marry...therefore making heteros (at least stupid ones) stop having children...THEN...all we'll have left to populate the world will be my offspring, Robin's offspring, and all of the other offspring of gays/lesbians...(and of course the offspring of intelligent heteros)...making the future populace free of stupid people! maybe not such a bad idea!

Did I mention that Santorum said that on the Senate floor.

I think that same sex marriages should be aloud. I also believe that they should have the right to have children. Homosexuals go through a lot to have a child, and when someone shows that much affection to have a child, you know that their love will be true to that child. It shouldn't matter what sexuality you are, if you want to conceive a child, you should have the right to. There are 16 year olds girls that have the right to have a child, but can't even take care of it on its own. Isn't that more punishing to the child that is being conceived? Shouldn't they have a safe place to grow up? Homosexuality can be a choice or it can be in their genes, though the gene is in everyone, its just a matter of if it is penetrated or not. Anyone can be gay, or straight. Why should homosexuals be punished for something that isnt necessarily their fault? I believe that gays/lesbians should be able to be married and conceive or adopt children, they would probably provide a better home than some heterosexual parents.
