This week our darling has been sick as a dog. She has had fever, nausea, and all-around pitifulness! It's like she's a different girl.
Pearl has never been a cuddler. She's full of bright smiles and quick hugs of affection, but she always prefers to position herself for the quick getaway. Even when holding hands, she puts her hand on the outside of mine, just in case she sees something interesting. She wants to be able to scamper off, inspired by the beat of her own little inner drummer.
So this week has been both sad and sweet. For the first time ever, she actually slept in my arms. She lingered in long hugs and cuddles. Which was in its way a wish come true, but somehow it just wasn't our Pearl. The sick girl was sluggish and slow.
Yesterday Pearl and Marcia went back to the clinice, and the doctor gave her a new medicine for the newest of her symptoms. She should be coming out of the funk soon enough.
She has one fleece winter hat that is reversible. Worn one way, it's a dog, but the other way, it's a cat. I've thought of that hat a lot this week because because of the changes I've seen in Pearl. This illness has turned our dear girl inside-out.
Poor Pearl. I hope she's better soon.
Both of my boys are big snugglers which as, the Queen of the Snuggle, I believe is genetic.

PS Did the pediatrician tell you about alternating Motrin and Tylenol? Because they don't duplicate, you are not double dosing, and it's a great way to keep her comfortable (also great when the molars come in).
Goes like this: at six give her infant Motrin, at nine give her infant Tylenol, if she doesn't wake up again great, but if she does it's time for Motrin again. Gabo usally sleeps much better if I keep the meds. flowing.

Get better soon, Pearl! My girl was sick two weeks ago, and looked so pathetic - dark circles under her eyes, pasty skin tone, snot, snot, snot... All she could do is whine and sit on my lap. She is a snuggler (not genetic), but was more of the barnacle baby that week.
