Just realized this afternoon that I've been blogging for a whole year now. I've really enjoyed it. I must say it's been different from what I expected. My original intention was to provide updates for friends and family.
What has surprised me is the circle of friends I've found just by keeping this online journal. I did not expect to find the deep sense of community and support and--sorry, I've got to say it--love.
I've also been very impressed with the quality of writing in many of the blogs I read regularly. I'm a part of a group called DotMoms, and I lost count, but a number of these women have agents and book contracts--the works! They may choose the label Mom instead of Writer, but many of these women are the real McCoy.
It's been an amazing year. I've typed lots of words because of this blog. Who knows if it's a book of one's own in the making, but I feel connected to many other mothers, even though parenting is brand new to me. So thanks!
Happy Blogiversary! I have been online journaling since 2002 but have just started blogging and I agree about the wonderful people you meet along the way that you otherwise might have not met. I am constantly blown away with the eloquent moms out there. I've always dreamed of being a great writer but I do not think I will ever get there! lol

We should really be thanking you, Robin! I look forward to reading your blog every day in the way I used to anticipate my morning newspaper.
