Hide & Seek is "in" at the new house. Boxes (empty and full) create the perfect hiding places where wide open spaces should be.
Once Pearl has found a hiding place, she hides in that spot for the rest of the day. She's at the developmental phase in which she thinks that if she can't see you, then you surely can not see her. Then when you finally "find" her, she squeals with excitement, runs to you, and gives you a most enthusiastic hug. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
Cute picture. Curious, is that bottom shelf of the bookcase. Full of poetry books. One the spine looks like Poems for the millennium book

That developmental phase lasts a remarkably long time - till 4 or 5, even 6. Hide and seek is still popular with my 6.75 year old - I think he's figured out that he has to really hide himself, but he still hides in obvious places (like under the bedcovers) and gets a thrill out of being found. So there are years of fun ahead of you with this one!

So, is the dog the one trying to find her? He looks like he's in on it.

Ok, that is seriously cute. Hope you're enjoying the new place--it looks like Pearl is!!

Very cute. Liam's phase is where he hides and then immediately (or at the latest right after I finish counting) yells out "I'm in here Mummy! Here I am!" But he still squeals with delight when I find him.
