We are park people. Our yard is small, and we don't have a swing set or trampline or jungle gym. However we do have five nice parks that are very close to our house; two of them are easy walks for us. That's why--weather permitting (and the weather is very mild in Houston), we go play at the park. Pearl plays along side other children. Sometimes she interacts, sometimes not. Marcia and/or I get to meet other parents and grandparents. It's a different dynamic from playing at home, and usually it's a good one.

we are park people too!! i like going to see tae watch bigger kids play - yesterday tae was entranced by an older boy playing hide and seek with his dad. she even started covering her eyes when he did as the dad ran off to hide.
it's funny the people you meet at the park. our parks have funny dynamics - stay-at-home-moms in the morning hours; families, more dads and working moms, and more people of color in the afternoons.
