We have wonderful neighbors. For example, this Victorian doll house was built by our neighbor David for his daughter when she was a child. And now it is Pearl's. She and Marcia have set up the rooms so that the arrangement is just like our house. They've put furniture in four rooms so far. I don't remember playing with dolls as a child, but I find the doll house intriguing, perhaps because I've always been interested in architecture. We don't have dolls to live in the house yet so it is mostly inhabited by dolls-with-wheels (choo choos) and dinosaurs and other animals.
But I have gotten off track here. I was telling you about our neighbors. Pearl and I love to take walks. In our neighborhood, we have a lot to look forward to on our strolls. For example, we have 3 Davids, 2 Scouts (both dogs), 4 public parks, a public swimming pool, and a nursery with a koi pond. Tracy lets us pick a tomato or a cucumber from her vegetable garden which is filled with sculptures that she made, and Glenda always invites us in to see a beautiful project that she has just completed.
We love being included in your blog, and love being able to pass on something special to us to a great young family.

Cool dollhouse!
Good luck finding a good doll family. I think we're going to have to buy three different families of dolls to assemble Nat's family in miniature when she's old enough for a dollhouse (two white mommies, a white Uncle David, a black Nat and a black baby).

This is my first visit to your blog, and I just love it. The photos, especially, are fantastic. They just jump off the page!
So, congratulations on your 9th anniversary. My partner and I are at 8 1/2 ourselves, but with 3-year old twins it honestly feels like we've been together for a couple of lifetimes now!
Glad to have found you, though. Thanks for sharing.

Funny that you should mention the neighborhood--I've been thinking a lot about our neighborhood myself lately. I think when you have kids, you are much more aware of who is living around you (since you spend so much time outside taking walks with the little ones). I was thinking of doing some sort of neighorhood project on the blog, and describing who our neighbors are and how diverse everybody is.
Anyway, great post today!

We were over at the park this morning and I just love your whole area. Gorgeous and funky and so family-friendly. And the world's best park, of course!
How are the schools?
