Well, the adoption is now official. Here are a few photos from our hearing in San Antonio. The girls really had to exercise patience--not a hot commodity for our toddler Pearl--but both Pearl and Carrie did great and even seemed to enjoy the day. More details forthcoming!
Congratulations!! You have a beautiful family! :)

Congratulations!!! What a wonderful day for your family. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
I love the picture of Pearl glaring at the camera while everyone else, including the judge, grins from ear to ear.

Pearl really refuses to pose for photos these days. We have a stack of pictures in which she is glaring like a teenager.

When I practiced family law my favourite day in court was the day judges were dealing with adoptions. It never failed to happen that when a happy family came out all happy and excited and dressed up that I'd be happy enough to shed a tear quietly myself. The joy in the parents' eyes usually just did me in.
Congrats on your "official" family! :)

Yay adoption! When I adopted my Q the first time(it was a foreign adoption, I had to do it twice) I didn't understand that that was what I was doing. I thought I was just there to sign more papers. Then the official said,"you are now the parent". Oops, was that what that was???The second time in America The second time was fun and everyone there was in such an upbeat mood. Everyone was so happy and we went out to lunch later to celebrate. Best wishes to you and your family.

A big congratulations to the whole family. I just love that Pearl brought a train along, because all celebratory events are better with a train.
