Valentine's Day is a double header here in Grrrlville because it's also Marcia's birthday. I don't mention it very often because it's sentimental and therefore a little embarrassing, but I love Marcia. Because we have two children so close together in age, it has been a challenge for us to remain close. We tend to focus on doing what we think is best for Pearl and Carrie, and this has been a drain on our relationship. Sometimes it has been difficult to find time for even short, simple conversations. We don't have extended family nearby to assist with parenting, and we haven't been comfortable leaving the girls with babysitters very often.
But this is a new year, and we're going to shift our priorities so that "we," as in "you and me," appear on the high priority list more often. Maybe we'll even see a movie some day. Together, awake, and at the same time! Happy Birthday, sweetheart.

I would highly recommend finding a babysitter you like. My partner and I have been having a college age student coming once a week to watch our kids since last summer. It gives us a chance to get that couple time that we need since having our kids (3 year old and 1 year old twins). We either run errands, have dinner with other adults or just have dinner and talk about the kids. Make it a priority.

Does anyone know a better way to post this slide show? In quicktime the pictures are clear, but apparently YouTube makes them blurry.

OK, I am sitting here sobbing. This may have a little to do with my hormones right now ;). That was really sweet. What a nice life you guys have together!!!
Ron and I have the SAME issue. We never do anything together because we don't have a babysitter. Maybe we can swap babysitting sometime--at least for a quick afternoon trip to a movie. The last movie we saw was Charlotte's Web.

So, so sweet! Excellent choice of music too. Good luck with your plans to prioritize your couplehood.
